Dana Matthews was born in Alabama and currently resides in The Hudson Valley in upstate New York. She received a BFA at The University of Alabama and an MFA at Rhode Island School of Design. For the past 20 years she has worked with her cameras creating photographs and installations that are related to the environment and the sensitive time that we live in. She practices alternative processes such as wet-plate collodion, cyanotypes and silver gelatin printing as well as digital medias.
Dana's Farm work and landscape photographs were recently shown at The Albany Airport along with a solo show at TK Home and Garden in Hudson, NY and her cyanotypes were shown at Davis Orton Gallery in Hudson, NY. She is currently working on a solo show of Hudson River Photos and installations to be shown in the fall of 2017. Dana's work has been exhibited in Holland, London and in museums and galleries across the United States and is represented in domestic and international collections. Visit her website.
