Storm King Art Center is synomous with world class sculpture and artists. Storm King Art Center's Summer Solstice Celebration is synoymous with world class art and world class food. The 2018 party, on Saturday, June 23, will feature a family-style meal served outdoors under the stars, amidst Storm King’s featured sculptures. Chef Michael Anthony of Gramercy Tavern in New York City is partnering with Chef Shelly Borris of Fresh Company in Garrison on a menu that takes inspiration from both Hudson Valley ingredients and Storm King's current exhibitions, Indicators: Artists on Climate Change and Outlooks: Elaine Cameron-Weir.

Celebrated as one of the world’s leading sculpture parks, Storm King Art Center is one hour north of New York City and maintains 500 acres of rolling hills, woodlands, and fields of native grasses and wildflowers that host a collection of more than 100 sculptures created by some of the most acclaimed artists of the 21st century. The exhibits being featured at this year's Summer Solstice Celebration opened officially on May 19. Indicators: Artists on Climate Change features work by 17 artists, including an artist collective, and explores the impacts of the changing climate. And Outlooks: Elaine Cameron-Weir, a site-specific installation, is inspired by a “Globe of Death.”

Taking inspiration from these installments, Chef Anthony and Chef Boris will be serving a variety of dishes including, Salted Watermelon and Emerald Radishes with Smoked Onion Dip, Island Creek Oysters with pickled peppers, a Roasted Carrot Salad with local honey, pistachios, and spices, and Bronze Fennel with Arctic Char Gravlax on whole-grain rye bread with dill honey mustard and sweet butter.

“The menu will be inspired by the outdoor seasonal celebration highlighting local, summertime foods focused in the climate set in one of the Hudson Valley’s most excited places to view world class art,” said Chef Anthony.

Brooklyn Brewery will be the beer on tap, served alongside signature cocktails created by William Grant & Sons's Tuthilltown Spirits and Hudson Whiskey. Following, guests will enjoy dinner and dancing in the fields with muscial guest, the Funk Junkies.

Transportation to and from the Celebration will be provided by West Point Tours. And all proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Storm King’s exhibitions and programs. Visit Storm King's website for more information and tickets.
